LONG (about 150 words) GroovSide turns your Mac's desktop into a small listening room. Whatever plays in Apple Music or Spotify appears as a record on an illustrated turntable behind your icons. The album cover becomes the label, and the scene takes on its colors. The tonearm follows the song and leaves a line in the groove. Albums are split into LP sides that are turned over and swapped like real records, and singles play on a 7-inch record. Live radio in Apple Music can play on one record per station. The longer you listen, the more tiny visitors drop by to dance, read and nap around the turntable, while light from a window follows the time of day. Five presets set the look, motion and visitors in one click. There are no accounts, analytics or tracking. GroovSide is made by zinu kim, a solo student developer in Korea. It is a $4.99 one-time purchase on the Mac App Store, coming soon.
